Each year a panel of 5 judges chosen to represent the community are chosen to critique those floats that request to be judged. Below are the 12 floats that were chosen to be this years winners.
Grand Marshal Award
Bronze and Bladed
Since opening in 2020, Bronzed and Bladed has been proud to serve Velva, ND and the surrounding area. Kristen has trained in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as Chandler, Arizona. She is consistently on the road searching for continuing education.
Flicker Tail Award
Magic City Beverage Budweiser Clydesdales
The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933. Horses on the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least
three years of age, stand approximately six feet at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds. A single Clydesdale will consume as much as 25 quarts of feed, 50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.
Heritage Award
Makoti Threshers
The next Makoti Threshing Show in July 2024 will be their 64th! Located southwest of Minot off of Highway 23, the Makoti Threshing Show includes a giant parade, kids’ events, large stationary engine display, pioneer village, a large selection of food vendors, large indoor flea market, ND Draft Horse demonstration.
ND State Fair Award
Minot High Class of 1969
The Minot High Class of 1969 Viking Longboat is coming off the high seas to visit the 2023 ND State Fair Parade. The Viking Crew will be launching 1000 pool noodles off the big ship and another 400 half-noodles from the tow truck, so all you kids (and grownups) get ready to get your souvenir from this year's event.

The Bark Porch
The Bark Porch opened in 2018 and this is our first ND State Parade entry. We built our float to be reminiscent of a nostalgic old-time porch to fit into this year's parade theme.

Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons
Diggin Girl Scouts in North Dakota! This is your Minot Area, Girl Scouts! They are Diggin’ Girl Scouts in North Dakota with their Jurassic style float! These girls more than just selling those delicious cookies-Marching in todays parade are several girls who have earned higher awards through Girl Scouts, including some working on their Gold Awards! Leading this year‘s, Girl Scout float and design idea is Senior Girl Scout Minot North high school, sophomore, Toria Vadala! This very active service unit loves giving back to their community and teaching Girls how to be awesome entrepreneurs, and living life to the fullest! Dakota Hope Clinic
Dakota Hope Clinic is celebrating 10 years off Hope. Offering Free Pregnancy, Parenting and Family Services in Minot, Tioga and coming soon Bottineau. Their services include free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, options counseling, parenting education and support, abuse recovery, and parent-centered care and peer support to families following a prenatal diagnosis.

SCHEELS has been serving North Dakota since 1930! Minot SCHEELS first opened its doors in 1974. In 1980, SCHEELS moved to the new Dakota Square Mall. Since then, SCHEELS has gone under three expansions—2008, 2012, and 2022—making it a 100,000-square-foot shopping experience!

Ward County 4H
Ward County 4-H is for youth ages 5-18. Youth have the opportunity to get involved with all types of activities such as communication arts, livestock shows, meats, range, hippology or livestock judging contests, air rifle and archery. 4-H is a great opportunity for youth to learn great communication skills.
